Conscious Connected Breathwork Frame – Video

Conscious connected breathwork frame. Conscious connected breathwork is generally an open mouth technique unless you have any of the contraindications listed in our ‘Contraindications to Open Mouth Breathing’ video, or if you choose to breathe via your nose for any other reasons.

We breathe through an open mouth with a relaxed and soft jaw in a circular, dynamic, conscious way where inhale is active and exhale is passive. This means that you’re not forcing your exhale out. Once your inhale is finished you start exhaling without any breaks. I will be giving you some breathing cues but you need to find your own rhythm. When we breathe this way you might start experiencing temporary things to your body and/or to your emotions. That could be tingling around your mouth, hands and feet, tetany – your hands and/or feet might start cramping up, dizziness, dry mouth and change of temperature. You might have an urge to move your body, change its position or to make a sound. You might start noticing various emotions: anger, sadness, frustration, but also laughter, joy and ecstasy. You might also start remembering old stories and forgotten memories. It’s all welcome in our session. We allow those things to surface, we notice them and we release them through our circular conscious breathing.

If at any point any of the above become too uncomfortable for you please use downregulating techniques: close your mouth and breathe through the nose, or extend your exhale or hum. Once you feel like you are downregulated, you can return to open mouth breathing or you can continue breathing through the nose.
